These newly created roles will play a key part in providing accurate financial reporting, driving efficiencies, as well as shaping the finance service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us and help make a real difference to local services which are valued by the people of Chesterfield.\nThe group accountant financial management role is to lead on the development, implementation and maintenance of processes and models to provide medium and long-term strategic information for the council’s financial planning and decision making. \nThe group accountant technical and capital accounting role is to lead on statutory financial reporting, taking ownership of monthly reporting, year-end processes, and internal controls, while playing a vital role in strengthening financial governance across the organisation.\nAbout you We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our organisation. \nThe successful candidates will be CCAB qualified with a strong track record of leadership within a local government finance environment.
