The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. About the role
We are looking for a caretaker to join our welcoming and friendly village schools at Barcombe and Plumpton.
The role of a caretaker is fundamental to our schools and they are an important member of our team.
We are flexible regarding the hours related to this role: work could be carried out in the morning and/or the afternoon across these two schools.
The contract is for 52 weeks a year less paid holiday.
The responsibilities would include:
- Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds.
- Carrying out handy-person activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment and minor repairs.
- Maintaining the general school premises, furniture and fittings and reporting any issues.
- Maintaining the security of the school premises as the main key holder.
- Locking and unlocking the premises as required.
- Carrying out regular checks of premises equipment.
- Carrying out and record health and safety checks.
We would love to welcome you to our schools. All training and guidance will be provided for the successful candidate, including from another of our Skylark Federation caretakers. No specialist skills are required.
This is a role with an East Sussex permanent contract which includes holiday pay and a pension.
