About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.  Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

How You’ll Be Involved

We’re building an Adult Social Care system in Camden that is based on relationships, love, and what matters most to the people who draw on our support.

The carers project is guided by the Prevention & Wellbeing Service and Adults Commissioning Service, but the ambition and reach go far beyond this. We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful person to support our carers project. This is your opportunity to help shape innovation and service development in Adult Social Care and directly influence the work of our Camden Borough Partnership, all with the aim of supporting unpaid carers.

Supporting People, Connecting Communities is the Council’s strategy for Living and Ageing Well in Camden. There is a priority within this strategy to ensure ‘carers and other informal networks of support are valued and supported.’ A Carers Action Plan has been co-produced with carers over the last 18 months to facilitate delivery of this priority. The Carers Action Plan is the foundation of the carers project.

The Carers Action Plan is a commitment to recognise and support carers better. It is a plan to enable all services across the Camden Borough Partnership to work together to meet the needs of unpaid carers. This is in recognition that a whole system approach was taken to develop this plan, and this approach will also be needed to effectively support carers. The Borough Partnership is a partnership of Adult Social Care, Health partners, Voluntary Community Sector organisations and related commissioned services.

This role supports delivery and administration of the Carer Project. You would work closely with two other roles have been created to facilitate delivery, the Carer Project Officer, and the Carer Project Lead, as well as interact with carers, Adult Social Care colleagues, health, the voluntary and community sector, and other partners.

Developing and maintaining strong partnerships will be fundamental to this role, as you will be looking to work with others to deliver the actions in the plan and embed the principles of working with carers within the Council and wider partners.

Central to this ambition, is the establishment of a Borough Partnership Carer Board, which will be led by carers.

You will administer and support the coordination of the Board, working with the team on a range of tasks to help implement the Carers Action Plan. This will include organising and setting project delivery team meetings, updating, and maintaining project documentation, drafting, and preparing team presentations and reports, and making sure actions are completed by the team and partners.

The role will keep relevant information and advice platforms up-to-date, such as the Carers Action Plan website. You will work with the Carers Project Team to priority-set and develop the Carers Working Group and Board agendas, as well as represent the team at events and meetings, help coordinate recruitment of the Board, and organise internal and external promotion related to the project.

All About You

Carers are at the heart of the carers project, directing all that we do. The ideal person will value and appreciate unpaid carers.

This project is dynamic and changing and needs someone that can keep track of all the tasks and workstreams, making sure we create an impact. You will have the opportunity to build on your existing project management and administrative experience. You will be able to demonstrate skills in project planning and coordinating delivery activities, as well as experience in building partnerships with various agencies and council colleagues.

Equally important, you are motivated to work with people and improve outcomes for our Camden community. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential. You should have experience organising meetings and managing communications, ideally across multiple stakeholders.

You can share examples of how you work within a team and have worked collaboratively with other internal and external partners, and how you have also managed your own workload. You can demonstrate your curiosity and creative approach projects, and appetite to develop and take initiative.

Having a good understanding of Adult Social Care and Health, or having experience of similar environments, is desirable.
