We have a proven track record in tackling those who don’t respect our environment and an appetite to address this problem behaviour.</p>\n<p>In the recent past the council has made a significant investment in surveillance cameras as part of our approach to tackling this behaviour. It is already making a difference and we want to continue this and achieve more. The council has developed an excellent track record of successful prosecutions in recent years and building on these successes and tackling fly-tippers is a priority for us.</p>\n<p>You will be one of two officers working alongside each other and as part of the wider Environmental Health and Regulatory Services teams.</p>\n<p>To join our team you will need to be ambitious, collaborative, and have a passion for upholding high environmental standards to protect the borough against this behaviour.</p>\n<p>Your specific priority and focus will be the investigation and enforcement of waste offences, using our surveillance cameras. You must be an excellent communicator to build and develop excellent relationships with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders to support and deliver this work. You must have experience in dealing with the public and be able to adapt your communication style appropriately to suit your audience.</p>\n<p>You must have experience in a relevant enforcement role and demonstrate in your application how your experience and qualifications meet the specification for this role. If waste enforcement is a new area for you, we still want to hear from you, but you will need to demonstrate how you’ve adapted to new areas of work and developed the knowledge you need to carry out the role.</p>\n<p>Basingstoke is a thriving high-tech town with excellent amenities, surrounded by picturesque villages and beautiful Hampshire countryside.
