About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Early Years Foundation Stage department of the largest primary school in Heathfield.
Cross in Hand is a happy and successful C of E Primary School in Heathfield, East Sussex. We have genuinely lovely children, supportive parents and a great team of staff. Our academic results are good, but we also develop the ‘Whole Child’, so we value the creative arts and sport too – we even have our own swimming pool!

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic part time (0.6fte) Early Years teacher starting ASAP. Our successful candidate will have:
- A high level of EYFS classroom expertise;
- A track record of good or better teaching;
- A secure understanding of the EYFS curriculum;
- The ability to work in partnership with staff, pupils and parents;
- Willingness to work within a church school ethos;
- High expectations of pupils, colleagues and themselves;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- An awareness of the need to be reflective in all areas of the EYFS;
- A commitment to contribute to the wider curriculum and offering enrichment opportunities to all;
- The ability to effectively promote and develop the vision, aims, culture and ethos of the school;
- The ability to create an inspirational learning environment;
- The passion for making learning experiences exciting, memorable and engaging for all.
