About the role
Mark Cross CEA Primary School is a small village school, just to the south of Tunbridge Wells, with a strong sense of community and a friendly, welcoming staff team.
We have a vacancy for a part-time Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to work in our Reception class. Precise hours and working pattern to be confirmed but we expect this to be for 21.25 hours per week, 8:45am – 1pm Monday to Friday.
Contracted hours will initially be 8:45am – 1pm with a view to increase to 8:45am – 3:15pm in the near future (elements of this are negotiable for the right candidate)
The successful candidate will:
- Be patient, calm and truly listen to and value children’s views.
- Be kind and have a desire to support pupils.
- Demonstrate versatility and flexibility.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Be able to communicate effectively with children and colleagues.
- Preferably have experience of working with children with SEND.
Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Curriculum and Makaton would be beneficial but not essential. School visits are welcome if you would like to find out more about this role.

Mark Cross CEA Primary School is part of the Weald Federation along with Frant, Mayfield and Five Ashes CE Primary Schools. We work closely together to enhance both the academic and pastoral opportunities for our pupils and provide opportunities for shared professional development and staff training.

Working pattern: Fixed term, Part-time/Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.5 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
