Climate Change Officer

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council as a Climate Change Officer.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about environmental issues, is highly motivated and able to undertake a wide variety of work which will have a direct impact on the Council’s Climate Change agenda and ambition to be carbon neutral.

The Climate Change Officer will be responsible for delivering key targets in the annual Climate Change Action Plan and to develop projects to support additional initiatives that will help achieve carbon reduction goals and biodiversity improvements.

This role can shape the way forward by engaging with our Members, key officers across the organisation, partners, residents, businesses and the wider community to change behaviour.  The role will also support work regarding the wider policy and community agenda.  This will be varied, supporting community work and assisting with information gathering to inform the development of council policy and reports to Council committees.

The post holder will bring good experience of identifying and developing carbon reduction projects in order to implement low carbon projects across the Council’s building and land portfolio, establish annual emissions data for TMBC and the Borough as a whole, supporting officers to help monitor progress towards carbon neutral targets.
