Hours of work
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during term-time from 8.00am to 5.30pm - £13.00 per hour.
Full-time during the holidays to lead the Holiday Club; therefore your own holiday weeks are taken during term time - £15.00 per hour.
27 hours in term-time; 40 hours for holiday club (16 weeks)
Job Specification
We are looking for a professional practitioner to be our friendly and welcoming Holiday Club Manager for a maternity cover starting mid-April. This is a full-time post for 16 weeks per year.
You will plan exciting activities for a mix of children from 2-7 and liaise directly with the families using the provision. You will oversee bookings and be supported by the Deputy Holiday Club Manager in managing the club. Your first week running the club will be from 26th to 30th May.
You will also work as an Early Years Practitioner in our Nursery for three days per week during term time. This is a varied role working in a team alongside other skilled and experienced practitioners in our friendly and beautiful Nursery setting.
The role will commence mid-April. You will have the benefits of being a fully employed member of the school, with access to training, including safeguarding training, paid for and provided by the school. You will attend all six days of INSET training across the school year.
Job Purpose
- To manage our Holiday Club throughout the year, ensuring appropriate, safe and stimulating supervision and care of the children.
- To plan and set up a range of welcoming, safe and engaging activities for a mixed age range from 2-7 and to ensure that the sessions are properly administered.
- To arrive at 7:45am ahead of opening to set up and ensure readiness to welcome and register the children. To clear up at the end of the day and ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
- To develop and maintain a friendly and professional relationship with parents/carers, ensuring a safe and happy handover on arrival and collection.
- To be the designated DDSL and to liaise directly with the Head of Pre-Prep, who is on call to support any potential queries or issues as they arise.
- To direct and work alongside other staff, taking overall charge for the daily running of activities and deployment of resources.
- To join in and provide a high quality of activities, promoting learning though play.
- To be aware of, and plan accordingly to cater for the children’s medical, dietary, allergy and SEND requirements.
- To ensure that the health and safety of the children is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside, in line with the risk assessment for Out of School Care.
To establish appropriate hygiene practices and supervise the children having both a hot lunch and a high tea.
Person Specification
- Professional demeanour and ability to uphold the high standards set by the school.
- Innovative and exciting approach to activities planned and ability to plan around the interests of the children.
- Minimum of level 3 qualification in Early Years.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification and Administration of Medicine (or willingness to train) and Food Hygiene.
- DDSL qualification (or willingness to train).
- Positive outlook and ability to work as part of a team.
- Minimum of five years’ experience of working with children
