Our school
Oakwood Primary Academy is a two-form entry primary school in Eastbourne, for pupils aged 4-11. We currently have over 300 pupils on roll, and an onsite Nursery taking children from 2 years old. We have some lovely woodlands and grounds, and our school is situated in the heart of Willingdon Trees, where most of our pupils come from the local community – a community we are proud to serve.
We are a school that has undergone huge, transformational change, having been rated as a “Good” school, in all areas, at our most recent Ofsted inspection in October 2022. We are committed in continuing our school improvement journey and to raise standards for all our pupils. Our four values of ‘Knowledge, Equality, Determination and Achievement’ underpin everything that we do, belonging to every pupil and member of staff. These help to create our vision for the school ‘Being Better Every Day’. We are looking for colleagues who can help all of our children to achieve their best.
Oakwood Primary is part of Aurora Academies Trust, an organisation that is committed to nurturing and developing talent. It is an exciting time to be joining Aurora. Our seven schools spanning nursery, primary and secondary provision are all judged to be good or better by Ofsted. The Aurora school improvement model has really taken off in recent years and is helping to ensure that pupils in our schools benefit from the best possible standard of education. Our Aurora curriculum has been developed in house and is used consistently across our schools.
Visits to see the school are welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Mrs Susan Hubbard, School Business Manager, to book a visit or to find out more about our school shubbard@auroraacademies.org.
