Teaching and learning typically takes place in very small groups or one to one. The school supports students across the ability range.</p>\n<p><strong>Safeguarding</strong></p>\n<p>Understand your responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding and child protection and how to highlight any issue or raise any concerns.</p>\n<p>Remain vigilant to ensure all students are protected from potential harm by following safeguarding and child protection policies and protocols reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).</p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the provision of a safe, secure learning environment.</li>\n<li>To ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support.</li>\n<li>To work as a member of the school team and to contribute positively to effective working relations within the school.</li>\n<li>Supply appropriate planning materials, following school plans where provided.</li>\n<li>Implement and maintain the Positive Relationships and Behaviour Policy of the school.</li>\n<li>To take part in staff development programme by participating in training and professional development.</li>\n<li>To maintain appropriate records and to provide relevant accurate and up-to-date information e.g. registers, data systems.</li>\n<li>To continue personal development in relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.</li>\n<li>Carry out the duties of the ‘regular’ teacher i.e. covering form groups, taking class registers, contribute to delivery of PHSE.</li>\n<li>To contribute to the process of monitoring and evaluation in line with agreed school procedures, including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria.</li>\n<li>To complete the relevant documentation to assist in the tracking of students.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Data Protection</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work within the requirements of Data Protection legislation at all times ensuring student data is kept safe</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional conditions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with staff, parents, community, and all stakeholders.</li>\n<li>The post-holder will be expected to undertake any appropriate training provided by the school to assist them in carrying out any of the above duties.</li>\n<li>To undertake appropriate professional development.</li>\n<li>To promote the vision and aims of the school.</li>\n<li>To set an example of personal integrity and professionalism as outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct.</li>\n<li>To attend meetings, training days and CPD sessions where required.</li>\n<li>To be an effective team player and support the functions of the Ancora House School.</li>\n<li>Observance of Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Health and Safety Policies and Internet Code of Practice.</li>\n<li>Observance of complete confidentiality on all school information is required and any failure so to do may be regarded as gross misconduct in terms of the Disciplinary Policy.</li>\n<li>To take responsibility for becoming familiar with school polices and abide by them</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For further information about the role please email the deputy headteacher <strong>carli.willis@ancora.cheshire.sch.uk</strong></p>\n<p>An Enhanced Disclosure with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be undertaken before an appointment can be confirmed.
