Ditchling CE Primary and Nursery School is looking for a dedicated EYFS Teacher/Practitioner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing our growing nursery while nurturing the youngest learners in our school community. This is an exciting time to join our school as we are part of the Hurst Education Trust. As members of the Trust our children have access to the considerable facilities of Hurst College and our staff have access to a wide range of CPD opportunities with the College. We are developing strong, collaborative links with the other Trust schools.

The Role:
- As an EYFS Teacher/Practitioner, you will:
- Provide high-quality teaching and care for children aged 2-5, with a specific focus on 2-year-olds.
- Write and maintain reports, including IPR 2-Year Progress Checks, ensuring accurate and meaningful observations of children’s development.
- Contribute to policy writing and the implementation of best practices to drive improvement in our nursery provision.
- Have experience and good knowledge of teaching phonics in EYFS(ideally Read, Write Inc)
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player
- Have the energy and creativity to make learning experiences engaging
- Have high aspirations for themselves and the children
- Have the ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing
- Have good organisational, planning and follow-through skills
- Enjoy the privilege of working with, and supporting, children’s learning, whatever their needs
- Work alongside the school to integrate the nursery through activities, learning and events.
- Be highly motivated and keen to learn
- Be willing to work hard as part of a team, demonstrating a commitment to working in partnership with parents

- Support the development of a growing nursery, implementing innovative ideas to enhance our setting.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
- Shadow the current supervisor ahead of your start date to ensure a seamless transition.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).
- Proven experience in an EYFS setting, with specific knowledge of working with 2-year-olds.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
- Experience writing reports, including IPR 2-Year Checks.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning environments and contribute to policy development.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to teamwork.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
