Experience is not as important as having the right<br>\nattitude and approach to working with our children, although we would welcome<br>\napplications from SENDCos with the SENDCo qualification.</p>\n\n<p><br>\nJob Description</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>To be responsible for the provision for children with Special Educational Needs and to have working knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice</li>\n\t<li>Referring children for Statutory Assessment and collecting the necessary evidence, to show that the child concerned has significant needs and that the school has done all that it could reasonably expected to do to meet the child’s needs</li>\n\t<li>Create and maintain Health Care Plans</li>\n\t<li>Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of students with special educational needs</li>\n\t<li>Maintaining a website page of useful information for staff and parents</li>\n\t<li>Set up systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing special educational needs</li>\n\t<li>Update the Head teacher and governing body on the effectiveness of provision for students with special educational needs</li>\n\t<li>Maintain a register of children with specific needs identifying provision</li>\n\t<li>Provide guidance and assist teachers in identifying children with learning, behavioural, medical or emotional difficulties and children with English as an additional language</li>\n\t<li>Advise and co-ordinate detailed assessments when necessary</li>\n\t<li>Complete referral/CAF forms to request support for students and their families</li>\n\t<li>Identify, adopt and monitor the most effective teaching approaches for those students with special educational needs, including intervention programmes where necessary</li>\n\t<li>Provide training opportunities for learning support assistants and other teachers to learn about special educational needs</li>\n\t<li>Disseminate good practice in special educational needs across the school</li>\n\t<li>Identify resources needed to meet the needs of students with special educational needs</li>\n\t<li>Co-ordinating provision in accordance to the Code of Practice by calling meetings as necessary</li>\n\t<li>Recognise and work to confidentiality, Child Protection procedures, Health and Safety, and all the school’s policies</li>\n\t<li>Work in collaboration with the Head teacher to help make Jarvis Brook the very best it can be!</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional information</h2><p>Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.</p>\n\n<p>Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.<br>\n<br>\nThe Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
