Our school is an excellent working environment characterised by happy, well-motivated students and innovative and enthusiastic teachers.  Following our recent inspection in April 2024, Uckfield College has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted, both as the overall judgement, and in each of the different categories that are evaluated. The MFL department is housed in our new main school building.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly skilled Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher to join our forward-thinking team at Uckfield College as a Lead Practitioner, who will work closely with our SLT to improve the educational outcomes of our students. In this key role, you will excel in the classroom - but, just as importantly, you will be instrumental in supporting not only your departmental colleagues to be the best they can be in the classroom and beyond, but also be involved in the exciting next chapter of our journey.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a desire to achieve strong outcomes. We need someone who wants to become a beacon of excellent practice in a classroom environment, whilst supporting SLT to drive up standards in the classroom for all our young people. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and fast-track your career toward senior leadership roles, working closely with the Curriculum Leader for MFL on impactful initiatives.

Working at Uckfield College means joining a vibrant, dedicated and skilled team, who are committed to working collaboratively to achieve real excellence for our students. In return we offer a wealth of staff benefits including a Teachers’ pension scheme, professional learning and development opportunities, free parking, employee assistance programme including counselling services, and well being initiatives such as staff breakfasts, free sports activities and staff social events.

Applications should be returned to the College as soon as possible or at the latest by 9am on Monday 10th March 2025.  Interviews will take place as soon as possible after this date.

We reserve the right to invite candidates for interview prior to the closing date and to close vacancies early if we have sufficient suitable applications. Therefore, we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.
