The Service:
The Building Your Futures Team supports children and young people who are looked after in foster care, cared for by connected carers or family, returned home to a parent(s) and specialist care. The team work alongside a wide range of professionals and multi-agencies to support positive outcomes for the children we care for. The team are positive, friendly, fun and most importantly - aspirational for children and young people's futures. Our team are creative and child focussed and strive for better outcomes for the children we care for.
Your New Role:
You will work with Children in Care to support long-term fostering or reunification home to their families, in addition to preparing young people to independence prior to them becoming care experienced young adults. This is an exciting and privileged opportunity to support children and young people in their plans for permanence and to prepare them for young adulthood.

What you'll need to succeed:
You have a Diploma or Degree in social work and are registered with Social Work England. You have a good working knowledge of theory and legislation including the Children act 89/04 amongst others. You are an excellent communicator with accurate written and analytical skills. You enjoy a busy atmosphere and are motivated to achieve good outcomes for children. You understand anti-oppressive practice and the legislative framework around this. You want to be part of a team, and have tact, diplomacy and can empathise with service users and encourage and foster positive change.
