An exciting opportunity has arisen as we are looking to recruit a Development Officer, to oversee the delivery of watersports and land-based outdoor adventurous activities and courses at the newly refurbished Crosby Lakeside. The site consists of a 78-acre marine lake, a health and fitness suite, two fitness studios, meeting rooms and the recently opened Bunk Barn, which is our exciting new onsite residential accommodation space for schools and organisations to stay. As well as being next door to the recently opened Lake House, this facility is one of Sefton’s primary assets situated in the stunning Crosby Coastal Park area of Sefton.
As a Development Officer, you will play a key role in overseeing and planning the delivery of a programme of high-quality courses, coaching activity sessions and the provision of our pay & play hire by the centre’s instructors. You would also be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment, boatyard and liaise with contractors to ensure the lake quality remains at a high standard. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has the passion and skill to continue to help develop the centre and a team of instructors and ensure that the site retains all necessary licences and certification to provide a quality service as well as working closely with all the resident clubs on site.
The post involves the delivery of sessions, overseeing staff delivering activities, pay & play, and coach mentoring and at times you may also be undertaking a general building supervisory role which allows for experience to be gained within the leisure management industry as you will be ensuring the smooth day to day operation of all areas within the building.
The successful candidates must possess a passion for watersports and land-based activities. You must be an excellent communicator and possess the interpersonal skills required to consult with a wide range of clients, resident clubs and NGB contacts.. You must be able to lead, manage and motivate a team of instructors to deliver all aspects of the centre’s activity programmes. We are looking for an experienced coach, ideally in possession of an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor certificate along with other awards e.g., paddlesport coach, windsurf, or powerboat Instructor certificate.
The post includes evenings and weekend work.
