Environmental Protection Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic Officer with a passion for protecting the environment to join our multidisciplinary Environmental Health (Protection) Service. The successful candidate will deliver a range of investigations that includes nuisance, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles and other environmental crimes. You will also undertake support the investigatory work of other colleagues.

In carrying out these duties you will collect evidence, prepare witness statements, interview suspects, develop casefiles and give evidence in court. Other enforcement duties will include the issuing of penalty and other statutory notices. 

You will need to be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to get involved and support colleagues. You must also have a ‘can do’ attitude to work, be self-motivated, flexible, take responsibility for a varied workload.

A full driving licence and a car is essential for this post.  From time to time, there will be a requirement for some out of hours working.
