We are looking for Waking Night Support Workers for our Respite Service in Bexhill. Greenwood has 14-ensuite bedrooms and offers short term breaks with a range of activities both within the building and grounds and out in the community.
At times it can be challenging, but supporting someone with a learning disability is an amazing job! You will witness them grow, which is incredible to watch, and be the person that supports them to do it. This rewarding role will involve supporting guests both emotionally and physically in their daily lives, and at times when they may be distressed or display behaviours that challenge. No two days are the same.
Waking Night Support Workers are there to support guests overnight to ensure they are safe and their wellbeing is looked after, administering medication, performing night checks, making drinks and snacks if required. The role also includes performing security checks and cleaning roles to uphold a high standard of cleanliness, ensuring the building is safe for guests.
The role is for 20 hours a week as a Waking night support worker, The rota is a 6 week rolling rota, the night shifts are from 9:30pm to 7:30am. Staff members are required to be awake all night. There is an additional enhancement per hour for waking hours.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a positive attitude towards the rights of people with learning disabilities
- Have communication and organisational skills
- Are self-motivated
- Are committed to providing excellent support
- Willing to undertake training required to complete the job role
- Have an ethos of working together

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
