Geographic Information Systems Officer (GIS) Full time 36 hours
Fixed Term for 12 months.
About the Role:
We are looking to appoint Geographic Information System (GIS) Officers to support our Highways teams in Wirral.
The roles will require working closely with the Development Management, Highways, Waste, Parks and Environment, and Highways teams for GIS activities.
You will be responsible for capturing, processing, and correcting spatial data in GIS layers. A clear understanding of available GIS tools will be required including MapInfo and QGIS.
You will work with Project Managers and Service Officers to create GIS products for internal and external use. You will also be responsible for the testing, quality, and accuracy of the completed products.

About the candidate:
We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate working experience in the spatial analysis, creation, repair, and publication of GIS layers. Your experience should include working with customers to deliver high quality GIS products, along with an understanding of Ordnance Survey data and Land Registry processes, as well as experience of working with Idox Cloud planning system would be desirable.
You will need to show a successful track record of using logical thinking and technical ability to create accurate GIS products.
You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to use computer tools for effective communication.
A requirement for this role is the ability to work with a team to deliver the expected work outputs within project schedule.
Above all you will be looking to improve the customer experience for Wirral citizens and our services back-office staff.
