Position: Midday Assistant

Location: Brackenwood Junior School, Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust

Salary: Band B

Hours: Part-Time, 12:10 PM - 1:20 PM (Monday to Thursday and 12.00pm- 1.05pm Friday). 5 days per week 38 weeks per year but fewer days per week considered

Start Date: w/c 28th April 2025

Brackenwood Junior School is part of the Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust, committed to providing an excellent education and nurturing environment for our students. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Midday Assistant to join our supportive team.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Midday Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students during the lunchtime period.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising students in the dining hall, playground, and other areas of the school.
• Assisting students with their meals and promoting healthy eating habits.
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Managing playground activities and encouraging positive social interactions.
• Addressing any minor first aid needs and reporting incidents to the appropriate staff.
• Supporting the school's policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of behaviour.

 

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• A positive and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
