Our Development Management Service play a crucial role in shaping a well-designed, safe, and sustainable built environment across the borough. The successful applicant will join a forward-thinking department committed to high standards, excellent customer service, and continuous improvement.
The successful applicant will lead and manage all business support and administrative functions across the service. This includes overseeing application validation, Local Land Charges, complaint handling, performance reporting, and the development of internal processes. With responsibility for leading staff and managing projects, they will play a critical role in improving efficiency and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. They will work closely with senior managers to drive continuous improvement and ensure that services are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. The post holder will also represent the service at both internal working groups and external forums.
We are looking for a strategic, motivated and highly organised individual with proven experience in managing business support functions. The successful applicant will be a confident leader, capable of motivating teams and implementing service improvements. Strong project management skills, a deep understanding of planning and building control processes, and excellent IT proficiency are all essential. They will be analytical, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive, customer-focused approach.
