How You’ll Be Involved
As Climate Programme Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the actions outlined in Camden’s Climate Action Plan and shaping its future. You will project manage environmental sustainability initiatives, collaborating with internal teams, partners, and local communities to ensure successful delivery. Managing Camden’s Climate Fund will also be a key part of your role, providing financial assistance to residents, businesses, and community groups for carbon reduction projects.
The role will focus on developing and driving engagement and communication strategies to ensure residents and organisations are actively involved in Camden’s climate journey. Additionally, you will identify and deliver programmes that improve energy efficiency in homes and provide funding opportunities to residents. Working closely with the Climate Programme Manager, you will help co-ordinate Camden’s wider environmental strategies, present technical climate solutions to various audiences, and contribute to progress reporting. This role offers the chance to contribute to impactful projects while working collaboratively across Camden’s climate, air quality, and energy initiatives.
All About You
We are looking for someone with excellent technical knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability, particularly in reducing household greenhouse gas emissions. You should have experience managing environmental projects from start to finish, including overseeing budgets and delivering clear, measurable outcomes. Strong communication skills will be essential as you will present technical information to a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, councillors, and project partners. We are looking for someone with a collaborative mindset, who has experience working with multi-agency partnerships and engaging local communities. A clear passion for tackling the climate crisis is essential.
