About the role

Are you looking for a role which will be rewarding, exciting, and where no two days are the same? Framfield CEP School (part of the St Thomas á Becket Church of England Federation) a happy and successful Church of England Primary School in Framfield (near Uckfield), East Sussex is looking for a new member of support staff to carry out this important role within our small busy rural school. We are looking for the successful applicant to commence employment as soon as possible. Contract will be offered on a permanent basis.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant 3 - SS 8, point 20 £29151.00 PA, pro rata, total hours a week 31.25.

Monday-Friday, 8.30-3.15pm (with ½ hour lunchbreak)6.25 hours a day, 5 days a week. Term Time Only.

We are looking for a gifted HLTA to join our school team. You should have a passion for learning, be highly motivated, work well as part of a small team and be committed to engaging with pupils in a positive, calm and caring way. You will be working alongside and supporting class teachers across all our key stages from EYFS to Year 6. You will be expected to teach, plan and deliver lessons for individual pupils, groups and whole classes. Alongside the class teacher you will assess the development, progress and attainment of pupils.

You will have high expectations of students within your care, manage behaviour effectively and ensure a productive and safe learning environment.

Due to the breadth and expectations of role, proven experience as a HLTA will be required.

Total hours worked per week = 31.25 hours a week.

This role will additionally incorporate the role of DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) to make up part of our Schools Safeguarding Team. If you do not already hold this qualification, full training will be given. Any relevant experience within this area will be of benefit.

A current First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Certificate would be useful however if required, training will be arranged and provided as these will be prerequisite duties for both roles.

Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. 

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
