Job introduction

About the role

Do you want to work in a team where you will be supported to be true to your Social Work values?

The Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood support team are looking for a qualified social worker to join our experienced, supportive team. The work is fast paced and always interesting, no two days are the same!

The main purpose of your role is to assess people’s needs and associated risks, establishing their eligibility for services under the Care Act, as well as assessing capacity under the Mental capacity Act. An understanding of this legislation is essential.  You will also have the opportunity to support with undertaking safeguarding enquiries. You will be liaising and working closely with other teams and agencies using a multi-disciplinary approach to inform your practice.

The nature of referrals we receive will give you valuable experience of working with a wide variety of different client groups and ages. This will provide a good foundation for working in all areas of adult services.

We are looking for candidates who are able to work autonomously and as part of the team. You will be adaptable, person centred, a great team player and committed to ongoing professional development.

To apply for this role, please click the ‘Apply Now’ button and complete the online application process. You will be required upload a CV and Covering Letter as part of the application process.

Interviews will be held in person in Hastings, Cavendish House, and are planned for the week beginning the 24 March 2025.

We also offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.

There is a strong ethos in the team to facilitate and encourage ongoing professional development. We offer the opportunity to qualify as a best interests assessor and complete your Practice Educator training

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Eleanor Wood eleanor.wood@eastsussex.gov.uk  01424 724444 .
