The Headteacher and Governing Body of St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and effective Year 6 teacher to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of young people; fostering academic excellence and spiritual growth in a supportive, faith-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and adapted lessons in line with the National Curriculum, ensuring the spiritual and academic development of Year 6 pupils.
- Support students in preparing for their transition to secondary school, including SATs preparation.
- Encourage a strong sense of Catholic values, promoting respect, kindness, and service to others in all aspects of school life.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, providing targeted support and interventions to ensure all students achieve their potential.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and parents to support the holistic development of each child.
- To lead a lead a core subject.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities, school trips, and special events.
- Contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school by participating in faith-based activities, prayers, and celebrations.
Key Attributes:
- A qualified teacher with QTS and experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally Year 6.
- A commitment to upholding and promoting the Catholic ethos of the school.
- A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and experience preparing students for end-of-key-stage assessments.
- A nurturing approach, with the ability to inspire and support students in both their academic and spiritual journeys.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- An understanding of the importance of faith and community in the development of young learners.
