Riverside Leisure Centre is Chelmsford City Council’s flagship leisure facility, offering a variety of sporting activities where there is something for everyone. Every member of staff plays their role, working within a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well motivated individual to join our team that provides a full range of building and operational services at the leisure centre as a Junior Facilities Engineer.
Duties will include responding to maintenance related emergencies and general repairs and facility checks as well as assisting the Facilities Manager and Maintenance team. Applicants must have experience of maintaining mechanical and/or electrical equipment along with basic handyperson skills and knowledge and previous experience of dealing with building faults. A related qualification or apprenticeship would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week, on a rota basis, covering weekdays, weekends, evenings and some late nights, so flexibility is a must. Applicants will also be required to act as Duty Engineer at times, to respond and deal with reactive maintenance issues that occur.
