Are you able to find the balance between strategic activities and supporting operational delivery and reactiveness?</p>\n\n<p>Seaford Town Council is seeking a senior leader to manage the delivery of its external services, projects and its large portfolio of assets, in accordance with its Strategic Plan and duties as land and asset custodian.</p>\n\n<p>You will work closely with the Town Clerk and senior leadership team to bridge the gap between local council governance and operational or commercial activities. At times, the two can feel slightly contradictory, so you will work together to navigate the best approach to be taken.</p>\n\n<p>You will be responsible for implementing decisions of the Town Council, managing departmental staff, finances, extensive services and other resources vested in it, and for monitoring, negotiating and reviewing agreements, contracts and other arrangements on the Town Council’s behalf.</p>\n\n<p>You will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing the departmental teams. Being the Projects & Facilities team at the Town Council offices and the Town Council-owned Seaford Head Golf Course.</p>\n\n<p>As an employer, we believe that experience and knowledge can develop and grow within the business if you have the right attitude and personal skills to bring to the role. You will be a confident and professional people leader, who understands and practises the value of great communication and positive management of working and strategic relationships. You will be a master in the art of delegation, ensuring that your teams are empowered and coached in their roles. As a public body, there are very set working practices and approval processes, so you will need to be comfortable working in this way and have the patience to ensure due process is followed.
