About the Role
We are recruiting two experienced social workers for our Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team.
If you are passionate about building relationships with children and families working towards positive outcomes for children and have at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children’s Social Care team, we would love you to apply.
Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team (FRAT) - You will work as part of a small team consisting of a team manager, 3 social workers, a family finding coordinator, and a community worker, working together to recruit and assess prospective foster carers. We are also responsible for the assessment of family and friends foster carers, and private foster carers.
You will be actively involved in recruiting and supporting prospective carers through the assessment process, up to Panel and/or the court process.
About You
We are looking for motivated social work practitioners, passionate about fostering and kinship and providing quality care for children who have experienced trauma.
The role will involve supporting the Team at targeted recruitment and information events, undertaking initial visits/viability assessments of prospective foster carers, private foster carers and kinship carers, including Social Guardians and those seeking to apply for Child Arrangement Orders.
You will:
- Manage a workload of foster carer, private foster carer and kinship assessments, adhering to clearly defined timescales and working in accordance with the Fostering National Minimum Standards, Fostering Regulations 2011, Care Planning and Case Review Regulations 2013, and Special Guardianship Regulations 2005.
- Initiate and develop close working partnerships with statutory agencies, voluntary and private sector agencies, carers and those with parental responsibility in order to facilitate good outcomes for children and their families.
- Deliver preparation training to carers such as the ‘Skills to Foster’ and presenting to Fostering Panels and when required to the courts.
