Teaching Assistant required at Westfield School
Starting as soon as possible
1 year fixed term contract
Westfield is a popular one-form entry village school, set in the countryside just outside of Hastings. We believe our role, as educators, is to prepare children to be successful in life. We aim to create well-rounded, self-motivated individuals who are healthy, confident, happy and achieve the best they can.
We are a good school and we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team to inspire our children and to work creatively alongside the class teacher to provide an innovative and engaging curriculum that enables everyone to achieve their goals.
We need someone who
- is passionate, patient and nurturing who can be flexible in their approach to this varied and busy role
- has a positive attitude to help and encourage children with their learning
- has a strong understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes
- can work with individuals as well as targeted groups in adult led and child initiated activities contributing to observations and assessments
This role requires you to undertake basic First Aid training if you do not currently have that qualification, as well as assisting during lunchtimes to encourage positive play.

Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
