About the Role:
Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council have formed a strategic partnership to create a unified officer team. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ASB and Community Safety Coordinator to lead our Community Safety team. This role is pivotal in delivering the Community Safety agenda for both councils, managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, and coordinating community safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Community Safety team, ensuring effective delivery of the Community Safety agenda.
- Address and resolve complaints of anti-social behaviour in line with council policies and strategies.
- Coordinate the delivery of the Community Safety Partnership agenda, including preparation of plans, reports, and assessments.
- Collaborate with police, internal and external partners to enhance community safety.
- Manage budgets for projects and partnerships and identify external funding opportunities.
- Represent the councils in key partnerships and multi-agency problem-solving groups.
- Support safeguarding and domestic abuse initiatives, acting as the operational lead.
- Develop and deliver a programme of community engagement events.
Essential Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to community safety and ASB.
- Experience in dealing with ASB cases, particularly in social housing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with partners.
- Proficiency in IT applications and data management.
- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience.
