What You’ll Be Doing
Join our SEND Team as a SEND Support Officer!
In the SEND & Inclusion Service, we continue to have high aspirations for our children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We are building on our dynamic staff team that will provide a high-quality service to our children and young people with SEND and strengthen relationships with our families and schools.
As SEND Support Officer, be the first point of contact for SEND enquiries, providing essential support to families, schools, and professionals. Work closely with SEND Case Officers to manage active caseloads, coordinate EHC assessments, and ensure statutory timelines are met. With strong communication and organisational skills, you’ll handle sensitive situations with care, prepare key documentation, and maintain robust records to meet DfE and Ofsted standards.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
All About You
We’re looking for someone with experience in SEND and a solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014. You’ll need excellent communication skills to work effectively with families, professionals, and stakeholders, handling sensitive situations with care. Strong organisational skills, IT proficiency, and experience maintaining accurate records are essential.
Knowledge of Camden’s SEND policies, Local Offer, and educational settings is ideal, or a willingness to learn. Most importantly, you’ll have a collaborative approach, ensuring the voices of children, young people, and families are heard, with experience supporting those with SEND.
