Personal Advisor

Our Children in Care and Care Leavers service consists of a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Personal Advisors (PA) across the Newcastle and Moorlands District of Staffordshire. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside professionals from a range of disciplines including, social workers, probation services, police, accommodation providers, housing, welfare benefits, mental health professionals, substance misuse services and foundations to employment to support care leavers on their journey to independence. 

Some working outside of core hours will be required

You will:

• be responsible for holding a case load and providing practical support, advice and guidance and fulfilling the statutory requirements of the Leaving Care Act for our care experienced young people aged 16-25.
• help prepare young adults to ensure they are supported within their journey to independence.
• be aspirational and empower young adults to develop skills to prepare them for their futures.

You must have:

• significant experience of working with children / young people 
• good communication skills
• an ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other professionals, be solution focused to achieve best outcomes for our care experienced young people.
• the ability to travel across the county
