Due to the retirement of a fantastic staff member, we are seeking to appoint a special person to join us as our Pastoral Teaching Assistant at Poulton Lancelyn Primary School.
This position is a unique role in school, which will see the successful candidate working predominantly with pupils or small groups of pupils to support them with a range of pastoral, well-being and mental health needs each day. This could include anxiety, separation, bereavement, school avoidance.
For the majority of the week, the successful candidate will be positioned in our well-equipped pastoral room, where activities such as lego therapy, scaling and quiet club take place.
We are requiring a patient and committed individual who has the ability to work as part of a team and the sensitivity to treat each pupil that they support with the care and compassion that they need at the time.
The appointed candidate will have regular catch-ups with senior leaders at school and the Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust pastoral team.
Training on specific areas of support can be provided based on candidate experience and qualifications.

The current vacancy is for 5 days, Monday to Friday, working from 8:30am to 4pm, with a staff meeting on Wednesday until 5pm.
