Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.</em></p>\n\n<p><em>If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted. </em></p>\n<h2>About the role</h2><p>We are looking for a caretaker to join our welcoming and friendly village schools at Barcombe and Plumpton.</p>\n\n<p>The role of a caretaker is fundamental to our schools and they are an important member of our team.    </p>\n\n<p>The work could be carried out in the morning or the afternoon.  The contract is for 52 weeks a year less paid holiday.  The responsibilities would include:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds</li>\n\t<li>Carrying out handy-person activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment and minor repairs.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain the general school premises, furniture and fittings and reporting any issues.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain the security of the school premises as the main key holder.</li>\n\t<li>Lock and unlock the premises as required.</li>\n\t<li>Carry out regular checks of premises equipment.</li>\n\t<li>Carry out and record health and safety checks.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>We would love to welcome you to our schools. All training and guidance will be provided for the successful candidate, including from another caretaker.
