About the role
School Secretary
Part Time Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday weekly 8:30 - 3:30pm, 6.5 hours a day, totalling 19.5 hours a week. Term Time only.
Grade Single Status 7, spinal point 18 (£27829)-19 (£28486) PA, Pro Rata.
Blackboys CEP School, part of the St Thomas á Becket Church of England Federation is looking for a new member of staff to welcome to their existing inclusive and friendly staff team.
We are looking for a friendly, highly motivated, methodical and energetic School Secretary to work in our busy and thriving school office for a total of 19.5 hours a week, 6.5 hours a day.
The list is not exhaustive but your work will include: dealing with admissions, organising school trips, putting together the fortnightly school newsletter, data input into Arbor (the Schools information database). You will be responsible for general office duties, administration of day to day pupil data, Parent/Carer support, secretarial support for the Headteacher and teaching staff, liaison with parents, governors and visitors.
Strong ICT skills are essential. Experience with Arbor, ParentMail/ParentPay desirable but training will be given as required.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills being able to deal with a variety of people in person, on the phone and online; you will be experienced and comfortable using computers as maintenance of electronic pupil records will be part of the job, you will enjoy challenges and have a strategic thought process; you will have experience of office routines and a commitment to develop professionally. You will be able to manage your own time efficiently. The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory eDBS check.

Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service) (As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)
