About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Assistant head for inclusion to support all pupils with speech, language, and communication needs. This role involves working with children individually and in small groups, assisting with the implementation of speech and language programs, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with pupils to develop their speech, language, and communication skills.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of individualised support plans (ISPs).
- Monitor and record pupil's progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
- Collaborate with teachers and the senior leadership team to support pupil's overall development.
- Help to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and related interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in speech and language or education (desirable but not essential).
