About the role
Do you have a passion for civil law and litigation? Do you enjoy investigative work and analytical decision making? Do you get a thrill from dispute resolution and negotiation? If so, we might have the next challenge you are looking for.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Legal Officer to join our busy and dynamic civil claims team. The successful applicant will have conduct of case work handling personal injury and property damage claims pursued against the three Orbis Local Authorities. The role will predominantly consist of pre-action claims relating to the Highways Act 1980, Occupiers Liability and Employers Liability.
We are looking for communicators who are good team players and have a willingness to learn.
We are looking for candidates who…
- Hold one the following qualifications; Institute of Legal Executive qualification or a substantial part thereof or equivalent or similar qualification e.g. law degree, LPC or BVC or substantial proven fee-earning experience in a legal practice.
- Has an interest in Tort law and Civil Litigation.
- Are able to analyse facts, research the law and apply it.
- Have communication skills.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
