Winchester City Council is looking for a Landscape and Open Spaces Manager to join the Sustainability & Natural Environment Team.
As manager of the Landscape and Open Spaces team, your role will be to be responsible for the provision of professional Landscape Architecture expertise in support of a variety of the Council's functions to protect, maintain and enhance landscape and townscape character, quality and local distinctiveness; and to promote and create quality spaces within Winchester City and the district. You will be responsible for the line management of the Landscape Architects and Open Space Officers.
The role will work across the council and with a range of external stakeholders and agencies to implement the council’s work in relation to Landscape and Open Spaces in line with the Carbon Neutrality Action Plan and the Nature Improvement Plan.
An ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, as is good organisational skills and an ability to manage your own workload and time, as well as manage members of the Landscape and Open Spaces team. This role will see you come into contact with members of the public, partners, contractors & suppliers, planners and councillors, as well as other sections of the council, so excellent communication skills are a must.
