Salary: £26,409 - £36,124 per annum (Career Grade 8-6, subject to performance progression)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Location: Muriel Matters House, Hastings, TN34 3UY (Office-based with home-working opportunities up to 1 day per week)
The Role:
As a Housing Options Officer, you will play a key role in preventing homelessness and supporting individuals with housing challenges. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored advice and assistance, assessing housing needs, and working with a range of stakeholders to secure long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer professional advice in line with housing legislation to assist clients in preventing homelessness and securing accommodation.
- Conduct thorough assessments of housing enquiries through home visits, telephone, or face-to-face interactions.
- Take homelessness applications and carry out necessary enquiries.
- Maintain accurate casework records and provide clients with updates.
- Collaborate with landlords, housing providers, and other partners to develop sustainable housing solutions.
- Stay updated with housing legislation and apply it to daily work practices.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvements.
About You:
We’re seeking a proactive individual with:
- Experience in housing-related support roles.
- A strong understanding of homelessness causes, tenancy law, and housing legislation (e.g., Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Resilience and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- A flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
