PILS supports adults with learning disabilities to maintain their tenancies. Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who has a service from PILS service promoting their dignity, respect, and independence at all times. You will be part of a team providing high standards of person-centred support to our Service Users, supporting them to complete everyday living tasks, work towards achieving their personal goals, and enable them to live as independently as they can.

The Promoting Independent Living Service (PILS) supports citizens with learning disabilities to live independently within their own homes.
You will be the Senior Support Assistant at one of the properties we support which has a single tenant and a staff team in it. There are 2 Senior posts vacant at present, one of 20Hrs per week and one at 26Hrs per week.
Staff work together to develop Tenants' life skills enabling them to navigate all the challenges of living independently, with guidance, support, advice, and sometimes drawing on their own experiences.
The rewards of seeing Tenants achieve are so uplifting to all involved and are great motivation for the days that might not go to plan.
You will provide line management support to your team holding regular supervision sessions with them. Hold regular team meetings Your good rota management skills will ensure that the tenancy is adequately staffed at all times, complete support plans, positive handling plans, audits, and Health & Safety checks at the properties.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
You’ll need:
You will have a Diploma 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent/ or be committed to achieving this within the agreed timescale from appointment to the post.
Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.
To have a good knowledge of safeguarding, policies and procedures.
To work with management to ensure that all Tenants’ needs are being met to support their individual outcomes.
The ability to lead, and work as part of a team, using own initiative and respond flexibly to the needs of Tenants promoting dignity, respect and choice at all times.
Working as part of our management team, you’ll have the benefit of engaging with people face-to-face as you work in partnership with Social Workers, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and a range of other practitioners.
With excellent relationship-building skills, you’ll work closely with members of the team, Management and colleagues across other locations.
To have the ability to assess service user needs, record and maintain records both paper and electronic and monitor accordingly, to communicate and liaise with Tenants, relatives and with other professionals, on a day-to-day basis.
You’ll enjoy using a proactive problem-solving approach to achieve successful outcomes for both your staff team and the tenant you support.
Basic Knowledge of different electronic programs and a willingness to learn new programs to support you within your role.
