An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Traffic Engineering Officer ready to make a real impact on the safety of the highway network in Rutland.
We are seeking a talented professional to join our dynamic team to provide leadership and expertise, promoting a clear vision and identity for Traffic and Network Management functions. Assist with the authority’s duties under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and ensure works are in accordance with the contract including the Highways Act 1980 and the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991.
Working closely with other Highway officers and teams to ensure the network is kept in a safe condition, the role is also required to enter scheme information into the Asset Management System to provide a robust defense against highway claims.
Previous experience of delivering highway safety and maintenance projects, with a good knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice such as the Highways Act 1980 and Well Managed Highway Infrastructure is required, along with excellent written and oral communication skills, knowledge and expertise in highway maintenance as well as a full UK driving license.
