About the role / service
The Highways team are a supportive professional team. This role involves implementing highway schemes and programmes of work relating to bridges and highway structures.
You will be reporting to a Service Manager, preparing, developing and implementing maintenance and capital works schemes and undertake related functions associated with the management of highway bridges and associated structures.
About you
You will have degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or transport related discipline, along with a detailed and up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation and highway design standards. You will be working with developers to achieve high standards of development and protect the Council’s interests.

Your Contributions:
You will be providing valued and trusted technical advice to the Highway structure service
Your role will involve preparing estimates, project plans and programmes, submitting these to the Management team for consideration
You will also be evaluating design and construction proposals submitted to the Council by third parties, providing informed opinion and support to the Council.
