Main purpose of the role
We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our dynamic team at Impact North West Schools. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to lead in the absence of the Headteacher, driving the standards of quality education across all areas of the school curriculum.
Key Duties
Key Responsibilities:
• To take responsibility for the day to day running of the school
• In the absence of the Headteacher, to assume authority and responsibility for all aspects of our school
• To make significant contributions to whole school policy and decision making
• Raise attainment for all young people by consistently planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality, engaging interventions
• Oversee the ongoing monitoring, reviewing, and assessment of all learners
• Develop and implement policies aligned with our commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
• Provide regular CPD to colleagues and stay abreast of the latest quality of education initiatives
• Coordinate joined-up practice within the school and model consistently high-quality teaching
• Support teachers' professional development and appraisal through lesson observations, feedback, and implementation of improvement strategies
• Use data to identify individuals or groups that need targeted support and develop strategies to raise achievement
• Promote strategies that support differentiation, inclusion, and positive behaviour
• Lead on research, best practices, and innovations in intervention strategies
• Contribute to the recruitment and professional development of other teachers and support staff
• To undertake any professional duties of the Headteacher reasonably delegated by the Headteacher
• Specific lead area to be decided based on candidate's experience and skillset
Other Responsibilities
• Develop and implement educational programmes that meet the needs of all students.
• Oversee the daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
• Lead, mentor, and support teaching staff in their professional development.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community members to promote student success.
• Monitor student progress and implement interventions as necessary to support learning.
• Ensure compliance with educational policies, regulations, and standards.
• Foster an inclusive school culture that values diversity and promotes respect among students and staff.
Requirements
• A recognised qualification in education or a related field is essential.
• Proven experience in an educational leadership role is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing school operations.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
The Deputy Headteacher will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct.
