About the Job
We are looking for an Experienced Team Manager who has Local Authority Experience to join us at an exciting time as we transform our services and strive for excellence. You will be able to confidently lead and manage the performance of a team of social workers and social care officers and foster a culture of continuous learning and reflection of practice that inspires staff to give of their best in their roles. You will introduce, embed and continually improve performance at team level, ensuring that the quality of social work is consistent with established models of good practice. You will be responsible for ensuring that staff effectively support residents, their families and carers to maintain their independence through embedding the Well Newham approach.
Within the role you will be responsible for overseeing the professional standards of the social workers within your team, managing risk and performance ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and statutory guidance. You will contribute to the strategic development of the service and from time to time will be required to cover for the Service Manager in his absence. You will be required to work with others across social care, integrated networks, hospital teams, voluntary and community sector and other agencies to share best practice and ensure consistency of approach.
About You
The successful candidates must be a Registered Social Worker or OT. If a key management role appeals to you with the opportunity to really make a difference to the people we support and you share our vision, then we want to hear from you.
We are looking for candidates who have strong management and leadership skills with demonstrable experience of delivering high quality interventions for residents, their families and carers, and experience of supporting practitioners to implement and embed excellent practice.
You will have sound understanding of Care Act interventions along with significant knowledge of Strengths Based Practice, Mental Capacity and Safeguarding Adults, including significant knowledge of risk and the current research and practice in this.
You will have experience of developing strong working relationships with partners in the voluntary, community and faith sector, health, and have experience of intervention and delivering support and interventions with residents. Excellent communication skills are critical and you will have demonstrable experience of working within multi-disciplinary settings and delivering and developing training for multi-disciplinary audiences. Finally, the successful candidate will have some demonstrable experience of using IT recording systems and data to monitor team activity, support quality assurance, and drive service improvement.
