We are seeking a Corporate Safeguarding Officer to join our Partnerships & Community Engagement Team. This is very friendly and supportive team that delivers a wide range of services to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to work with departments across the council to ensure we protect children, young people and adults from abuse, neglect and harm.
The post holder will review and enhance the Council’s current safeguarding arrangements and act as the main source of support, advice and expertise for safeguarding across the organisation by providing operational, strategic and corporate direction, including complex professional advice on matters relating to safeguarding.
The ideal candidate will have relevant training in the fields of social / public policy and community safety and considerable experience in the field of Safeguarding and policy development in a local government or similar statutory body setting. Experience of strategy development and implementing policies and procedures across an organisation will also be necessary. You will also require a thorough understanding of relevant legislation relating to safeguarding adults, young people and children, and be an excellent communicator.
The post is offered on an 18 month fixed term contract (36 hours per week).

The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work up to three days per week from home.
