We are looking for tutors to lead or support in delivering whole-class ensemble tuition. The learning focus is on general musicianship leading into a specialist instrument. Primary placements will include MX Strings, a project focussing on violin and cello tuition, but successful tutors may also be asked to lead or support on MX Play, which involves voice, recorder, djembe and glockenspiel musicianship lessons to students beginning their musical journey. We aim to provide children with skills that will give them the knowledge and access to as broad a musical future as possible.
Candidates should demonstrate:
Ability to inspire and engage children and young people of all musical abilities and backgrounds
Experience of whole class ensemble tuition to younger students.
High professional standards and a commitment to delivering to the music centre’s expectations
Successful applicants will be added to our team of sessional music tutors and will also be offered other work as it becomes available, which may include further whole-class ensemble tuition, peripatetic teaching, and teaching at our Saturday Music Centre.
