We are seeking a Culture and Communications Manager to join the team.
The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Research Manager will lead the HDRC research team. The role will work closely with a wide range of senior stakeholders in academic and other research organisations, including funders to build research infrastructure in Lambeth Council, foster research culture and develop research grant proposals for research into addressing the wider health determinants. The role will involve leading the development and conduct of HDRC research and collaborations. The postholder will be instrumental in developing the interface between researchers, practitioners and policy makers/implementation. The postholder should be an enthusiastic and experienced researcher who can lead on the development and delivery of a research strategy focused on wider health determinants, including a range of collaborations to secure sustained funding for research and to contribute to the development of Lambeth Council’s research infrastructure including significant cultural change.
About the Role:

The postholder should be an enthusiastic and experienced researcher who can lead on the development and delivery of a research strategy focused on wider health determinants, including a range of collaborations to secure sustained funding for research and to contribute to the development of Lambeth Council’s research infrastructure including significant cultural change. You will Lead, motivate and manage the work of a research staff team, including regular individual supervision, performance management and bi-annual appraisal of staff in accordance with all council requirements, and supporting individual professional development, including coaching, and mentoring where appropriate.
To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:
- Extensive practical knowledge and experience of undertaking complex research projects
- Understanding of health and care qualitative data and familiarity with wider health determinants
- Good knowledge and experience of research and information governance
- Experience of strengthening resident and community engagement in research
- Experience of collaborative working across multiple disciplines and/or agencies
- Educated to post-doctoral level (PhD) or master’s level (MSc) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Sciences or related discipline or holding professional qualification
