This opportunity is currently being offered on a fixed term contract basis of 11 months; however, if budgets allow the contract length may be extended, though this is not guaranteed. If an internal council employee wishes to apply for this role, a secondment opportunity may be considered (please state this on your application).
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our fast-paced team providing support to the Chief Executive. This role will give you a unique insight into how Medway Council operates, and the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to support the work of the Chief Executive.
You will provide high-level support to the Chief Executive, providing key administration and diary management. You will act as the first point of contact for the Chief Executive’s office, coordinating all communications and ensuring the Chief Executive is briefed on urgent issues at the earliest opportunity.
The position will operate to a hybrid work style. Office attendance will be determined by the Chief Executive, to allow collaboration.
We are looking for a proactive and resilient individual who excels in ICT skills, can be flexible when working to competing deadlines, can work collaboratively with colleagues both internal and external to the organisation, has the ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences and understands how to manage various levels of sensitive information.
