The Role:
- The successful Social Worker must be qualified and professionally registered as a Social Worker and will understand the statutory guidance, legislation, and research relating to adoption.
- As the Social Worker you must have good assessment skills and an understanding of adoption social work practice and processes will be required for this post.
- Within the role of the Social Worker you will be required to have a good understanding of adopted children's needs and the ability to work collaboratively with Local Authority Social Workers as well as an understanding of Children Looked After policies and procedures is essential.
- This post is a Family Finding Social Worker responsible for all activity related to finding the right adopters for our children, including visiting and profiling children, using search tools and family-finding events, coordinating matches, and attending matching panel.
Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is the Regional Adoption Agency for the Merseyside region covering Knowsley, Sefton, Liverpool, and the Wirral. AiM provides all statutory adoption functions, including recruitment and assessment of adopters, family finding for children, and adoption support.
We have a part time Social Worker post within AiM’s Family Finding Team,the post is 17.5 hours per week and the salary will be pro rata to reflect this. Agile working is implemented in AiM and the post is seconded to Knowsley Children’s Services, who are the host local authority.
