About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Health & Safety Officer to join the Corporate Health and Safety Team at Redbridge.
As a key member of the health and safety team, you will work collaboratively alongside a small team of highly experienced safety professionals to help deliver efficient, effective, and comprehensive health and safety services to a range of council departments and agencies.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide support, advice, and guidance on safety legislation and good practices to all levels of the organisation
- Assisting in incident investigations to ensure identification of underlying, and root causation
- Undertake safety audits as per the established audit schedule
- Undertake and contribute to H&S projects
- Data evaluation and production of monthly and ad hoc reports
- Delivering onsite training
- Work with the head of health and safety to deliver the H&S strategy across the council
- Assisting in drafting, and review, of risk assessment and method statements
About you:
You will be the type of person who can:
- develop working relationships, which will encourage and even inspire others to continually improve on safety
- evaluate complex situations and communicate to people in a succinct and easy to understand way
- challenge sub-standard work practices and cultures
To apply for this role, you will already have:
- Formal qualifications in Health & Safety or equivalent disciplines
- Experience with health & safety management systems
- An applied knowledge of current H&S legislation and standards

- Membership of one or more recognised Health and Safety professional bodies
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary environments
