An opportunity has arisen within the Income Team in the Revenues, Benefits and Transactional Services Department.

We are currently seeking three exceptional individuals with skills in invoicing and collecting a wide range of fees and charges from individuals, companies and the public sector who are committed to providing the highest standard of customer service to join our team.
As a successful candidate you will be enthusiastic, and self-motivated. You must have good communication and organisational skills, be able to demonstrate your commitment to quality and performance and be enthusiastic about new initiatives and forthcoming changes.
Although experience of debt collection from a diverse range of debtors is desirable you will not be shortlisted it you do not have proven communication skills (verbal and written) which are essential to the role.
About the Role
The main duties of the role will be:
- Communication and Negotiation: Engaging with customers via phone, email, or letters to discuss outstanding debts, negotiating payment terms, and helping resolve disputes.
- Managing Debt Recovery: Overseeing the process of debt recovery from a variety of debtors, including individuals, businesses, and other organisations.
- Assessing Payment Plans: Developing and proposing realistic payment plans based on the debtor's financial situation while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Debt Resolution Strategies: Applying various debt collection strategies for different debtor profiles to maximise successful recovery and minimise financial losses.
- Escalation of Cases: Identifying cases that require escalation to legal or external collection agencies and working closely with those parties as necessary.
- Collaborating with Team Members: Working closely with other departments (e.g., legal, finance, customer service) to address complex cases and ensure smooth operations.
